November 2011 - Vendors Night

Our November meeting was our annual vendor night and was a great success. There were many new faces as well as established ones. It is great to see friends we know and meet new friends. It was wonderful to see so many new members, many of whom found out about us at the annual National Bird Show at the Richmond Green in October. I think everyone mixed and mingled very well.

Our vendors were:

  • Dr. Kim Kosari who informed us of the services she offers as a travelling vet
  • Bird Nerd who had wonderful handmade buttons, cards and other parrot-related artwork. Visit their website www.birdnerdgifts.com
  • Harts R Us who had a huge assortment of mugs, t-shirts, parrot Car-toons, post cards, notebooks and more.

    • Faye introduced us to the sad saga of the dying loons in the Great Lakes due to a high level of botulism.

    Treats, for only a dollar, were enjoyed from our buffet table.

    I walked around with my clipboard, asking about bird bath time routines and now I have material for my Gazette article. It was a very enjoyable and informal evening.
