This is our final hurrah of the season and as tradition has it we have our great bird show.

  1. This is a conformation show and we have our wonderful judge fresh from Niagara-on -the -Lake presiding. Not only is Jane Gillespie a certified hook bill judge but she has also been a president of our club . We need each and every one of you to bring your feathered companions. This is really a species exhibition and I know some of your guys are moulting, feather-picking or playing around with their tails. We still need to see and learn about them. Just spray your birds regularly and feed them their usual incredible diets. This is our chance to show off what fabulous companions we have sharing our household
  2. Since this is a conformation show there are a few sticky rules:
    • exhibit your birds in a cage small enough to show them to their best advantage but not so cramped that the bird cannot turn around and is hunched over . Black is the best cage colour but do your best
    • no toys or swings in the cage so that the judge can see all aspects of the bird
    • ensure that your birds are well groomed - shiny beaks, appropriate length of nails, great plumage if possible
    • keep food and water to a minimum during the judging
    • please arrive by 6:30 if you plan to exhibit so that we can start the meeting by 7
  3. Birds will be displayed in three categories - small, medium and large. The three top birds in each category will receive a medallion. The Best in Show from these categories will win a trophy. Still every bird is a winner.
  4. This is another one of our great open house events. Bring all your family, friends and neighbours. Where else will they experience such a great array of exotics?
  5. Stands By Nature raffle. Last chance to participate at $10 a ticket. Once you are the winner of this raffle, Steve and Pam will work with you to ensure the perfect fit for your particular bird. So bring on your money for this incredible prize. $10 a ticket and proceeds go to the club. Who can resist?
  6. Usual great raffle with some excellent prizes. 1 ticket for $2 ;2 tickets for $3 ;,3 tickets for $5 and 7 tickets for $10
  7. Announcement of 2010 - 2011 executive. If you have last minute plans, June will see our elections
